A positive overall result, the “Vendanges en fêtes” 2022 were a real popular success, generating strong economic benefits and a really positive impact on the image of the city of Banyuls.
A meeting to review the Vendanges en fêtes event has just been held in the City Hall Chamber, in the presence of Mayor Jean-Michel Solé and Director of Epic (Public Industrial and Commercial Establishment) Antoine Mascuñano. All participants, elected officials, winegrowers, traders and associations agreed that this edition of Vendanges en fêtes was an undisputed success. The entertainment and activities were a real success and the sun was present on Sunday, the main day of the celebration, for the table adhesives on the beach and the arrival of the harvest by sea. It is difficult to estimate how many people were present in these four days, but one thing is clear, hotels, residences, lodgings and hostels, campsites and a large number of rentals were full for at least three of them. On Sundays, slightly fewer people than in other years on the beach, but a very large number of restaurants on the waterfront in the city) with more than 37,000 euros for Cru winegrowers.
Despite this overall satisfaction and positive evaluation of the party, some points remain to be improved, and among the main ones, the Saturday evening ended late, overflows were recorded, which forced the organizers to close the road to the front of the sea, and the arrangement of the city was not up to par. After this meeting, it became clear that efforts should be made to improve it in line with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) from 2023. This overview meeting served as a reminder that the organizers are very careful not to turn the Harvest Festival into a holiday. This is not the purpose of the event, which aims only to celebrate the vine, wine and winegrowers. A positive overall result, the Harvest Festivals were a real popular success, generating strong economic benefits and a really positive impact on the city’s image.
