Christmas Producers' Fair: the promise of a gourmet meeting

Finding the right idea for a gift and products needed for festive meals, but also tasting local products and having a good time, promises the Chamber of Agriculture of the Loire with its 27th Christmas fair of producers in our region. It will take place in Andrézieux-Bouthéon from December 16 to 18.

After several years spent at the Parc expo in Saint-Etienne, precisely at the Complexe d’animation des bords de Loire (Cabl) in Andrézieux-Bouthéon, a traditional Christmas market for local producers will be held for three days, organized by the Chamber of Agriculture from Friday 16 to Sunday, December 18 (from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.).

For visitors, this meeting is a guarantee of finding fresh products that will delight the palates of their guests during festive meals, as well as gourmet and original gift ideas to put under the Christmas tree. In addition to end-of-year celebrations, this farmer’s market is also an opportunity to discover or rediscover products that are consumed every day.

During three days you can find a wide range of quality food and drinks: meat dishes and meat (beef, pork, lamb, rabbit, bison); poultry and processed products (chicken, guinea fowl, duck breast, foie gras, confit, rillettes, terrine, etc.); snails; fish and seafood (products from Lake Loire and oysters from the Arcachon basin); delicacies (pasta, morels, seeds, saffron, etc.); cheeses and yogurts (cow, goat, sheep, etc.); sweet dishes (chocolate, sweets, honey, cakes, etc.); wines and spirits (côtes-du-forez, côte-roannaise, cotes-du-rhône, craft beers and liqueurs, etc.).

Festive atmosphere

The Christmas market of the producers of our terroirs, with its tasting rooms and musical background, “is also an atmosphere worthy of gastronomic halls”, the announcement states. On the menu: hot snails, ham, pig, lamb on a spit and its assortment of vegetables, a plate of oysters with a glass of white wine from the Loire, a plate of delicacies, fresh pasta, cheese, pancakes, hot chestnuts… you will be able to treat yourself to a feast at the stalls, so even discover new recipes during culinary events (Friday from 14:00 to 18:00, Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 16:00).

By organizing this annual event, the Loire Chamber of Agriculture wants to “ promote the development and visibility of short circuits from farm to plate. This method of distribution is a win-win for both producers and consumers. »

The Christmas spirit will be present at this market thanks to the presence of Santa Claus (Saturday from 14:00 to 17:30 and Sunday from 10:00 to 17:30) and a photographer who will immortalize that moment. Outside the market, fir trees will be offered all three days. Loire Educational Farms will give children access to the animals through fun workshops, while the Eculieu Equestrian Center will offer pony rides (Saturdays from 14:00 to 16:00 and Sundays from 10:00 to 16:30).
