For example, the work of Wallartstmartin, which offers frescoes in vivid colors, is very present all over the walls of the island. These works will catch your eye, like this magnificent turtle.

Rent a car, jeep or ATV to explore the island

When traveling to Saint-Martin, it is ideal to rent a vehicle and set out to discover the island’s many attractions.

Driving takes place according to French standards at right lane. A Canadian driver’s license is sufficient to drive anywhere in the country. Saint-Martin’s road network consists of a main belt that surrounds the island and small roads that connect the settlements and beaches.

Road maps are distributed free of charge at the Saint-Martin Tourist Office and in various shops and other tourist spots on the island. You can also use your cell phone’s GPS apps, including Google Maps, which work very well in that area.

Otherwise, taxis are available to get around Marigot, Philipsburg or the main tourist sites.

Taxis do not have a meter, but follow a set price list. Most taxis, especially those on the Dutch side, accept both dollars and euros.

For example, a race to connect the international airport to your rental in the Maho district will cost you 15 euros, with 4 people and luggage.
