The Gerbier Group continues its development in car dealerships

David Gerbier continues to invest in leisure vehicles by taking over two concessions from CLC Group, one of the largest distributors in France. These are the Dijon (21) and Nancy (54) locations.

Ten years, group Gerbier invests in the world of motorhomes. In this sector of activity, it continued to grow in full for several years by taking over two concessions from the group CLC, one of the three largest French leisure vehicle distributors. These outlets are located in Dijon (21) and Nancy (54).

These two companies have a turnover of 20 million euros, including 12 million euros in Dijon, and sell 220 new vehicles and 150 used models. In June 2022, the Gerbier group already continued operations in this area by acquiring a major player in Normandy, Auto Camper Servicesinstalled in three locations in Calvados.

From CLC’s side, this acquisition is the result of a small revolution that the leisure vehicle distribution experienced last year. Group trippedthe European car dealership leader with a turnover of €3.2 billion for the disrupted financial year 2021-2022, has effectively bought up to 70% of the three largest leisure vehicle distributors, CLC (eastern and northern France), SLC (Pays-de-la-Loire) and Recreationo (South-west).

The latter, which employs around 800 people, has more than forty sales points and achieved a turnover of 400 million euros. But in order for this operation to be approved by the Agency for the Protection of Competition, CLC had to sell the operations of Nancy and Dijon. Which is now done.

In 2021, the Gerbier Group was ranked 50th in our ranking of the top 100 distributors in France. It sold 8,000 NVs and the same number of UVs, as well as 1,500 recreational vehicles. In this area, it is present in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region, in the east of France and in Normandy. It achieved a turnover of 300 million euros.
